[3.4] Crit Reave/Vaal Reave Marauder (Juggernaut)

Intro & build description

Foolproof build thanks to its tankyness and simplicity. Great 1st character in new league since it doesn’t require any uniques to function. Pick up some armor, pick up a weapon and kill monsters, you are good to go. However, your damage depends on the weapon you are carrying, unlike casters who gain damage as skill gems level up, you will need to pay attention to the weapon you are using. Gameplay is very simple and fast-paced, use whirling blades to move around and press reave to explode packs of monsters while being almost unkillable tank. Build is proven and taken to level 100 in hardcore league.

Build Pros

  • CHEAP, like really cheap to start
  • Build has very good damage as long as you have a decent weapon
  • Very tanky, high life pool and endurance charges
  • Easy to build, easy to play - beginner friendly
  • HC viable

Helmet

Abyssus

Use rare helmet with high life till you find or buy Abyssus. Damage boost this helm provides is immense.

Body Armour

Astral Plate

Cheapest and easiest way to get 6-link astral plate is to buy ”Celestial Justicar” divination cards. They are not that expensive. I wouldn’t try to 6-link it myself.

Gloves

Tombfist

Extra jewel slots, increased damage and free maim on enemies. Use rare gloves with life, attack speed and elemental resistances till you acquire Tombfists.

Boots

Kaom's Roots

Stun immunity and high life. Very solid boots. Lack of movement speed on boots doesn’t affect build since you will be using whirling blades to move around 99% of the time.

Left Ring

Rare Ring

Elemental resistances, high life and physical damage to attacks.

Right Ring

Rare Ring

Life, elemental resistances and physical damage to attacks.

Late endgame upgrade – Shaped ring with ”curse enemies with assassins mark on hit” mod.

Amulet

Rare Amulet

High intelligence, high life and elemental resistances. We need some mana leech as well, either on amulet or rings.

Belt

Stygian Vise

High life, decent elemental resistances and %increased elemental damage with attack skills . Armor is very nice bonus if you can find one for good price.

1Hand Weapon

Rare Sword

Look for at least 250pDPS corsair sword with critical strike chance and attack speed.

Offhand

Stat Stick

This ”Stat Stick” is used to gain extra elemental damage to your attacks based on  physical damage you have. More physical damage = more elemental damage.

Jewel

Might of the Meek

Might of the Meek is placed in jewel socket next to ”Berserking” and ”Duality” notables for extra life.

Jewel

Rare Jewels

  1. Increased Melee Damage
  2. Increased Global Critical Strike Multiplier
  3. Critical Strike Multiplier While Dual Wielding
  4. Increased maximum life

Jewel

Abyss Jewels

  1. Maximum life
  2. Increased Global Critical Strike Chance
  3. Increased Global Critical Strike Multiplier

Flask

Flask Setup

  1. Bubbling Divine Life Flask of Grounding
  2. Ample Diamond Flask of Grounding
  3. Atziri’s Promise
  4. Lion’s Roar
  5. Chemist’s Basalt Flask of Warding

  1. Hi there, what would be the best way to level this build?
Could I start from level 12 with no currency or wait for higher levels while using Sunder or something else?

  2. Since laceratte got buffed in 3.3 im interested on using that skill. Can reave be swaped out for laceratte. If Yes, any other changes required?

    • In theory, yes, it would work. But lacerate now has 25% chance to bleed, so investing in some bleed mechanics probably would make sense then.

  3. How is this build with clear speed?

  4. what gem could I go without if I only have a 5 link armor?

    • I’d say increased AoE. The blue slot is kinda useless. Ive tried PCoC and Concentrated Effect in it, but i feel like dmg on full life is so much stronger.

  5. How does this build generate endurance charges im a little confused?

  6. how to maintain mana without mana leech?
