Intro & build description
This build is based on Neversink’s In-Depth Tornado shot guide on Path of Exile forums. This is Deadeye version which in my opinion is currently one of the best ascendancies for the build since Pathfinder was changed a few patches ago. The build clears very fast and has no problems even with the toughest bosses – it can kill Uber Atziri, Guardians and Shaper and with some practice, Uber Elder.
Build Pros
- Very fast clear
- Great as league starter build
- Uber Atziri viable
- Very versatile in terms of skill gem choices (can use wide variety of skills not just Tornado Shot without skill tree changes)
Build Cons
- Evasion can sometimes be unreliable as defensive mechanic
Passive tree(s) and Path of Building

Assassin's GarbLook for body armour with at least 85 life, some resistances and as much evasion as you can find.
5-link works pretty well but try to 6-link it for builds full potential.
Boots
Atziri's StepGreat defensive boots with 30% movement speed, life and high evasion. They also give us chance to dodge spell damage which is not-so-often seen mod on items.
They can be a bit expensive at the very beginning of new leagues, but usually drop in price rapidly.
Left Ring
Two-Stone RingRings in this build serve defensive purpose – get as much life and resistances as you can on rings.
Attack speed and physical damage to attacks are nice bonuses.
Amulet
Agate AmuletOn amulet look for crit multiplier, life and maybe crit chance/elemental damage with weapons. Combination of all these can be expensive, so pick and choose the combinations that serve your situation better.
Belt
The RetchThe Retch is a great option for the build – makes your clearing even faster.
Good alternative would be Stygian vise or leather belt with high life, resistances and weapon elemental damage or Stygian Vise with well rolled abyss jewel in it.
Quiver
Spike-Point Arrow QuiverOn quiver look for crit multiplier, crit chance, elemental damage with weapons and some life.
Attack speed and physical damage to attacks are great mods to have on quiver but can get expensive.
Flask
Flask setupFlask setup for the build:
1.) Instant Recovery Divine Life flask with freeze removal
2.) Eternal life flask with bleed removal
3.) Taste of Hate
4.) Atziri’s Promise
5.) Surgeon’s Quicksilver Flask of Adrenaline
Jewel
Jewel SetupMods to look for on jewels:
1.) Increased maximum life
2.) Increased attack speed
3.) Increased attack speed with bows
4.) Increased Damage
5.) Increased Physical damage with bows
etc
Why would you get Soul Raker?
Oh man, thanks for telling me, there was a mistake in tree.
its very useful when you add the legendary jewel that makes it with bows instead of claws on the socket below it
would any unique bows work for this build?
Haven’t really though about that – rares will probably be the best options but you could play around with Deaths Opus or Reach of The Council but I don’t know how good would that be.
what about Silvertongue? it seems like a 300 dps harbringer basically but with a few extras.
I meant to say Slivertongue XD
also i was wondering why pathfinder? is there any other classes that would work for this build?
Flasks are very strong and I like the ascendancy. Deadeye is another good option.
Vessel of Vinktar Topaz Flask is good here?
Liking it so far except mana seems to be a huge issue especially with Hatred and Herald of Ash on. Any suggestions? Currently at the start of act 3.
How do you deal with mana problems?
How do you get mana with this build? You have no mana flask?
Usually some mana leech does the trick – easy way is to buy viridian jewel with mana leech.
And what pick in pantheon?
Up to you.
Just curious, with life regen on the tree and the choice to help Oak, would would we take Vaal Pact?
We don’t take those nodes for life regen, it’s just a secondary stat to the stats we are looking for. Just because we use Vaal Pact, doesn’t take away huge boost of 10% increased max life from Golem’s Blood node.
Hey, maybe im missing something, but why do we have “Eternal life flask with bleed removal” when we have bleed remove on master surgon?
Also how do you have the strength to use Enduring Cry and the int to use Curse on hit when they level past 15 or so?
You should get some attributes on rings, amulet or jewels. Agate amulet base helps a ton.
Yeah I got a +24 str/int agate amulet, but even with an extra 30 Str from passive I can only get enduring cry to 15. I guess the extra 5 levels aren’t really that important…you’d have to get str on like 4-5 pieces of gear to have enough without the passive, and that’s hard to find without sacrificing other stats, especially in league
Level 15 is more than enough, you shouldn’t go for more strenght because as you said, those 5 levels are not that impactful.
Is the skill tree on here correct? I thought Vaal Pact got nerfed in 3.1? There’s a couple wasted points in +10 dex and str around the bottom as well.
