[3.7 Legion] Soulrend / Bane Shadow (Trickster)

Intro & build description

Soulrend and Bane builds were huge hits in Synthesis league, despite the league not being one of the most popular ones. Soulrend is a homing projectile skill that quickly obliterates packs of monsters, while Bane is an AoE damage skill that also applies curses, dealing more damage per curse linked to the gem. This build for Legion league is a perfect choice for someone who wants to play chaos damage skills and quickly clear maps and with some investment, kill tough bosses.

Build Pros

  • Excellent clear speed & movement speed due to high evasion rating and Queen of The Forest
  • DoT builds are great at killing bosses due to the fact that they don't have to attack constantly
  • Can stack really high DPS
  • Doesn't take a lot of investment to get going and scales well into the endgame
  • Can ignore physical and elemental reflect
  • Great as a league starter build for Path of Exile: Legion

Build Cons

  • Average single target damage (still good though)

Helmet

Rare Evasion Helm

Stats you should be looking for on a helm:

1.) As high life as you can get
2.) Nearby enemies have -9% to Chaos Resistance delve mod
3.) As high Evasion as possible

Helms like that are relatively easy to craft, you just need to roll your helmet with 2 socket resonators with Pristine + Abberant Fossils. It’s highly likely that you will hit a helmet with at least 80 life and the chaos resistance mod in your first 10 tries.

Ideal Labyrinth enchantment on your helm would be an additional Soulrend Projectile.

Body Armour

Queen of The Forest

Due to the fact that we are stacking Evasion Rating, Queen of The Forest is a great body armour for fast movement & clear speed.
Until you can get it, any evasion based body armour would do.

Gloves

Rare Elder Gloves (Evasion)

The 2 main stats we need on the gloves are:

1.) +x% to Non-Ailment Chaos Damage over Time Multiplier
2.) As high life as possible

A decent way to get gloves like that is to buy Elder gloves with minimum 80 item level, roll them with Orbs of Alteration until you hit +(13–16)% to Non-Ailment Chaos Damage over Time Multiplier, then regal them and craft life.

If you have extra currency, you could also multimod them for extra resistance / evasion.

Boots

Rare Two-Toned Boots

Look for rare Two-Toned boots with at least 80 life and 30% movement speed.
Any resistances or extra evasion / energy shield on top of that would be great.

Ideal enchantment: 16% increased attack and cast speed if you have killed recently

Left Ring

Rare Elder Ring

We need one Elder ring with Warlord’s Mark on hit.

Life, resistances and attributes are great bonuses on top of the warlord’s mark mod.

Right Ring

Mark of The Shaper

Exceptional ring for most caster builds, it offers a combination of offense and defense for your character.

Might be a bit expensive at the beginning of the league, so until you can afford it, any ring with high life and resistances will do just fine.

Amulet

Solstice Vigil

Solstice Vigil is a great all-around amulet, giving life, damage and attributes.

It also boosts the duration of buffs on your character.

Belt

Stygian Vise

Look for rare Stygian Vise with high life and as much resistances as possible.
+ Strength is also a good stat if your resistances are capped elsewhere.

Quiver

Rare Spike-Point Arrow Quiver

Look for rare quiver with at least 90 life and as much resistances as possible.

2Hand Weapon

Rare Crafted Bow

For this build, you will have to craft your weapon yourself.

First thing we need to do is get Maraketh Bow (For its 6% movement speed implicit).

1.) Roll it with Alterations until you get +1 To Level of Socketed Gems.

2.) Regal it, craft “Can have multiple Crafted Modifiers” on it.

3.) Craft +2 to Level of Socketed Support Gems, +x% to Non-Ailment Chaos Damage over Time Multiplier, x% chance to gain Arcane Surge when you Kill an Enemy. As a last mod, craft something that you find useful.

Jewel

Builds Jewels

You should focus on getting jewels with following mods:

1.) +% to Non-Ailment Chaos Damage over Time Multiplier
2.) % Increased maximum life
3.) Increased Damage over time / Increased Chaos damage
4.) Resistances / Attributes that you are lacking

After you have collected more currency, you should look into buying a Watcher’s Eye with a mod: +x% to Non-Ailment Chaos Damage over Time Multiplier while affected by Malevolence.

Flask

Flask Setup

1.) Divine Life flask with instant recovery
2.) Jade Flask with increased movement speed
3.) Experimenter’s Quicksilver flask of Adrenaline
4.) Quartz Flask with freeze removal
5.) Stibnite Flask with bleed removal
