Intro & build description
Rain of Arrows is one of the few bow skills that primarily focus on covering large areas, while also being great on a single target. This particular Metamorph build utilizes damage stacking from your attributes with rare Shaper Bow and Hyrri’s Demise unique quiver. The resulting build is pretty tanky, safe and can easily kill Shaper and also has enough damage to kill Uber Elder.
Build Pros
- Safer than an average bow build
- Fast clear speed
- Great single target damage
- Not overly expensive
Build Cons
- Elemental reflect is a problem for this build

Starkonja's HeadGreat defensive/offensive helmet for most bow builds.
Attack speed is especially valuable on this build, since we stack a lot of flat elemental damage.
Another good offensive option is Fractal Thoughts.
Body Armour
Kaom's HeartKaom’s Heart is a great option in terms of tankiness.
If you would like to go for more damage, you could choose rare elder body armour with critical chance to attacks, Loreweave or Hyrri’s Ire.
Gloves
Tombfist (2 Abyssal Sockets)Tombfist is a great option because it gives us 2 extra Abyss jewel slots.
Until you can afford 2 socket Tombfists, use ones with 1 Socket.
Boots
Rare BootsThis build uses rare boots with at least 30% increased movement speed, high life and resistances.
It would be ideal if instead of 1 resistance, you could get dexterity on boots.
A good enchantment would be 16% attack and cast speed / 10% elemental resistance penetration.
Left Ring
Rare Two-Stone RingThis build uses 2 rare rings with following mods:
1.) As high life as possbiel
2.) Elemental damage with attack skills
3.) Elemental resistances
4.) Dexterity / Strength
When looking for rings, prioritize life and elemental damage with attack skills. If you can get ring like that with 1 resistance on top of that, it would be ideal – you could craft dexterity or another resistance on it as well.
Amulet
Rare Citrine AmuletWe will use amulet slot to further scale our damage.
Look for following mods on your amulet in order of priority:
1.) At least 30% increased elemental damage with attack skills
2.) at least 30% critical strike multiplier
3.) Dexterity / Strength
4.) As high life as you can get
Belt
Rare Stygian ViseLook for Stygian Vise with at least 80 life and as much elemental resistances as possible.
Craft increased elemental damage with attack skills by using crafting bench.
Quiver
Hyrri's DemiseThis quiver is one of the core items in the build and we use it to scale our damage.
It will most likely be no more than 15 chaos, so get it as soon as you can.
2Hand Weapon
Rare Spine Bow (Shaper)This build uses rare Shaper bow with “Adds x to x Cold Damage to Attacks with this Weapon per 10 Dexterity” mod as a way to scale our base damage.
You could always buy a bow like this, in that case you should look for 3 base mods in order of priority:
1.) Cold damage per 10 dexterity mod
2.) Increased Attack speed
3.) Increased Critical Strike chance
You could also craft the bow yourself.
1.) Obtain a Shaper Spine Bow or Thicket Bow with at least 75 item level
2.) Roll it using Orbs of Alteration until you get Cold damage per 10 dexterity mod
3.) Regal it. If the Regal orb adds a good mod, multimod the bow and craft attack speed and critical strike chance. If it adds a bad mod, you can keep it or you can scour it and reroll it with alterations again.
Other good shaped mods you could keep on the bow:
1.) Damage Penetrates x% of Elemental resistances
2.) Chance to gain Power charge on crit / crit multiplier hybrid mod
3.) Increased attack speed / chance to deal double damage hybrid mod
Jewel
Lioneye's FallGreat jewel for extra damage.
Socket it into the jewel slot that’s located right above Acrobatics keystone on the skill tree.
Note: only allocate claw nodes when you have this jewel.
Jewel
Watcher's EyeWatcher’s Eye with “+x% to Critical Strike Chance while affected by Hatred” would be an incredible damage boost to the build if you can afford it.
Jewel
Rare JewelsSince this build uses a lot of flat damage, attack speed is an incredible damage mutliplier. On jewels look for:
1.) Increased Attack Speed if you have dealt a critical strike recently
2.) Increased Attack Speed
3.) + To maximum life
4.) x-x Cold damage to attacks / x-x Cold damage to bow attacks
5.) Critical strike multiplier mods
6.) Resistances / Attributes
Flask
Flask SetupBuild uses following flasks:
1.) Instant Recovery Divine Life flask with bleed removal
2.) Diamond Flask With Freeze Removal
3.) Quicksilver Flask of Adrenaline
4.) Atziri’s Promise
5.) The Wise Oak / Another Life flask with curse removal
Why all the claw nodes on the skill tree? I don’t get it…
With Lioneye’s Fall jewel, we convert those nodes into Bow nodes.
Ooooohhh, I get it now. Thank you! 🙂
