[PoE 3.13 Build] Cospri’s Malice CoC Shadow (Assassin)

Intro & build description

Cospri’s Malice builds are always popular and for a good reason. They have exceptional clear speed, are fun to play and obliterate bosses in a matter of seconds. This build is based on a combination of dual-wielding Cospri’s Malice, Elder chest with extra crit and Cyclone to trigger cold spells.

While Cospri’s Malice will be expensive, the build is still playable without them, although you will not be that powerful. It will be enough to farm maps and currency though.

Build Pros

  • Exciting gameplay
  • Fast movement and clear speed
  • Decent life pool

Build Cons

  • Can be a bit tricky to get going in new league

Helmet

Hubri's Circlet

Since this build is using a bit of energy shield too, Hubris circlet is a great helm.

Look for one with high life, some resistances and nearby enemies have -9% to cold resistance. Best way to get a helm like that is to craft white Hubris circlet with pristine and frigid fossils.

Body Armour

Rare Elder body armour

Look for Elder armour with high life and “Attacks have +0.64% to Critical Strike Chance” mod.

Another great all-around chest armor for this build would be Loreweave.

Carcass Jack would be another nice option.

Gloves

Rare Gloves

Try to get gloves with at least 80 life and as high resistances as possible since we need them a lot.

With Incursion gloves being relatively common, you could look for ones with x% increased damage against chilled enemies mod, which would be a good damage boost.

Boots

Rare Boots

Look for rare boots with high life, 30% increased movement speed and some resistances. Later on you should aim to craft Aspect of The Cat on your boots.

Left Ring

Mark of The Shaper

Mark of Shaper is a great ring for the build since we rely on spell damage.

Right Ring

Rare Elder ring

Look for rare Elder ring with life and resistances. You could also craft energy shield on it using crafting bench.

Amulet

The Pandemonius

Pandemonius is exceptional amulet for any build that relies on cold damage.

Will most likely be quite expensive early on though.

Until you can afford it, amulet with life, critical strike multiplier / critical strike chance will work well.

Belt

Rare Shaper Belt

Cooldown recovery speed is really important stat and not a lot of items can offer it. Get a rare Shaper belt with Increased cooldown recovery speed. Other mods are the standard ones – high life and resistances, but cooldown recovery speed should be the priority.

1Hand Weapon

Cospri's Malice

One of 2 core items for the build – get it as soon as you can.

Offhand

Cospri's Malice

One of 2 core items for the build – get it as soon as you can.

Jewel

Frozen Trail

We need 2 of these jewels to give our Frostbolt extra projectiles without Greater Multiple Projectile support gem and its damage penalty.

Jewel

Rare Jewels

To cap resistances on this build, we will be using jewels.
Mods you should be looking for:

1.) +x% To all elemental resistances (Until you are capped)
2.) Any critical multiplier mod
3.) Increased maximum life
4.) Cold damage to spells mods
5.) Attributes if you need them

Flask

Flask Setup

Build uses following flasks:

1.) Divine Life Flask with instant recovery and bleed removal
2.) Diamond Flask with freeze removal
3.) Quicksilver Flask of adrenaline
4.) Sulphur Flask with curse removal
5.) Cinderswallow Urn

Feel free to share your thoughts/experiences/tips about the build in comments section below.

About gems

Always tries to keep up with the game, its ever-changing mechanisms and explain them in understandable manner.

  1. what abyss jewel to put in boots?

  2. How did you solve the mana problem specially during boss fights?

  3. and up to how many resist should I need? I already spent 2ex per jewel(3pcs). (crit modifier, cold damage, life, resist). fire and light resist already hit 80+ while cold is 120 with the pandemonius but without the gloves and rings. Should I invest more resist to my rare ring + gloves or focus on Life and chaos resist coz its negative?

    • Just get them to 75% in maps as a minimum. Elemental weakness maps might be a bit dangerous, if you want to negate that mod, go for at least 109% of each resistance (but higher cold res for the Wise Oak).
Getting 100+ total elemental resistance + high life on gloves would actually be kinda cheap, so you could go for that and of course, you could craft resistances on your ring as well. But don’t bother getting any chaos resistance.

  4. what are the best enchants for helm, gloves and boots?

    • For helm, any Ice Nova enchant would be good, Frostbolt damage, chance to freeze too. On boots look for either adds x – x lightning damage or damage penetrates 10% of elemental res.

  5. Any leveling tips for this build?

    • Level it as a spellcaster, Blade Vortex works really well. With Tabula, you should have no problem getting it through 10 acts.

  6. I can only see a small part of the passive tree. Is there any way you can post a pic of the whole tree for me please

  7. best pantheons sir?

  8. How will warlord’s mark change work with this build in 3.7? Will mana sustain be a problem now?

  9. Are there any improvements or nerfs with this build in 3.7?

    • There are most likely improvements with the new Legion jewels, but it has to be tested out yet. Warlord’s Mark has been nerfed so you can only leech with attacks, but it shouldn’t impact the build that much.

      • So…should we use a warlords ring to pair with the shaper ring still or find another elder ring?

        • Warlord’s Mark still works with attacks, so it should work with Cyclone. It’s also great for generating endurance charges. Personally, I’d prefer Warlord’s mark ring over regular Elder ring, but one without the curse can work as well.

  10. I am curious as to why have CoC in the body armour when you have Cospri’s? When the body armour sockets could be used for increasing Cyclone.

    • Since we scale spell damage, scaling Cyclone would be wildly inefficient. Cyclone is only used as a trigger for other spells.

  11. Where do I place the frozen taiL? I cant find a place with 40 intelligence.
