Intro & build description
Haven’t played cyclone yet? Well, this is your chance. Most satisfying to play cyclone build currently out there. Only requirement is Ngamahu’s Flame, you can do fine with any rare axe till you farm up currency to buy one. Straightforward gameplay, spin into packs and kill everything in matter of seconds while dropping Molten Burst procs for even more damage.

Xoph's BloodGreat amulet to have for this build, since 10% fire penetration is huge dps boost. Not necessity though, any unique or rare amulet will do just fine, although with current passive tree it’s assumed that you have this amulet.
Boots
Titan GreavesStat priority:
1) Movement Speed
2) Life
3) Resistances
4) Armour
Note:
Try to find boots with at least 25 % movement speed, 30% is ideal. Even if you have to sacrifice little bit of life or resistances
Helmet
Devoto's DevotionAny rare helm with life and resistances is fine if you want to go tanky or if you are fining it hard to cap resistances.
Stat priority:
1) Life
2) Resistances
3) Armour
Belt
Leather BeltStat priority:
1) Life
2) Resistances
3) Weapon Elemental Damage
4) Armour
Note:
Belts with these four options can get expensive, belt with life and resistances will do just fine.
Left Ring
Two-Stone RingStat priority:
1) Life
2) Resistances
3) Stats
4) Weapon Elemental Damage or Attack speed
Note:
Try to get intelligence and dexterity on rings as well, to meet requirements for gear/gems.
Right Ring
Two-Stone RingStat priority:
1) Life
2) Resistances
3) Stats
4) Weapon Elemental Damage or Attack speed
Note:
Try to get intelligence and dexterity on rings as well, to meet requirements for gear/gems.
Gameplay
Here is a video where you can see this build in action:
What did you put in the 4x jewel sockets?
For jewels there aren’t any strict requirements – but generally build scales damage from jewels with following options:
Feel free to use jewels with other options as well such as % increased maximum life – this mod in combination with 2 of previously mentioned damage mods on jewel would be extremely good.
Hey man!
I’m thinking about trying this build out in the upcoming LHC league, and so I made an attempt at updating the skilltree for 2.6:
http://poeplanner.com/AAYAAPMSKwB3m40ILu2DGY4AXtN-fXX-urvjxKKXBhmKwzoqOO967g5W-n8r_W5-3Xj5jbmjiiP2TZKNffljVP695nfXFHWkwhjbdPEhYCyFWhpAoEa302967wUtdO3awYTvXhMhVdw9B3XApu9OYVKGYCKvOFN256knkGyHaqmUhNlHfr02ZU2-pzpSMn4OPBRx-OtkUsGj4mEwd1n-6hj3MnzZdqzPfq2N2WGFUusJOQ4Jlpd55FFQR-8OFCBfP_ZIjM89_FhjlcztP5u1hMXz3Whlj2BvJ5pq459noId2Sn3ZfIIHFyZ6hNCtQdBfcINtPL7Y1QAAAAAA
I took the liberty of changing a few things (mainly different pathing + Cleaving -> Wrecking Ball), and as I havent played this build before I’d be happy to know what you think.
Thanks!
Hey, thank you for your input! I will definitely take a look before the league starts and perhaps add this one to the build. 🙂
Solid, as you are going HC, I would suggest getting more life on the tree. 166% is bit too low. Might consider switching Savagery for Vigour close to duelist area for extra endurance charge. I suggest to get % increased maximum life on every jewel. We are waiting for 2.6 to go live so we can update links to passive skill trees.
Thanks for the feedback!
I agree with the life thing, and as a matter of fact i apparently had forgotten to allocate the Bloodless cluster in the build i linked, which would give and additional 23% life.
That being said I decided to try out the build in Path of Building, with gem setups and Ngahamu + Xoph’s blood + Carcass Jack, and I came to some interesting results. Most notably that the Primeval Force WED cluster isn’t actually worth taking (lower DPS per point than Slaughter/Cleaving/Wrecking Ball), even when full flask uptime is assumed. I also decided to pick up IR because why not.
With that in mind the new and (hopefully) improved tree would look like this:
http://poeplanner.com/AAYAAP0SKwB8m40ILu2DGY4AXtN-fXX-urvjxKKXBhmKwzoqOO967g5W-qOKI_ZNko19-WNU_r3md9cUdaTCGNt08SFgLIVaGkCgRrfTb3rvBS107drBhO9eEyFV3D0HdcCm705hUoZgIq84U3bnqSeQbIdqqZSE2Ud-vTZlTb6nOlIyfg48FHH462RS6hj3MnzZdqzPfq2N2WGFUusJOQ4Jlpd55FFQR-8OFCBfP_ZIjM89_FhjlcztP5u1hMXz3Whlj2BvJ5pq459noId2Sn3ZfIIHTjIX4Sb4E0wppfJBvJ8YkfxLFE3Bo-JhMHdZ_hcmeoTQrUHQX3CDbTy-2NUAAAAAAA==
So now it has 193% life (I also went ahead and got the last life & armor nod), and with 4 life jewels I should easily reach 6k+ life at lvl 90.
Could you please post lvling build?
We haven’t specifically made leveling tree for this build – rule of thumb would be to take half damage and half survivability nodes while leveling and it should work out well. Also get Ngamahu’s Flame and Xoph’s Blood as soon as you can.
Do you run any special Flask with this build?
I am playing this build in Legacy and not running any specific unique flasks – I have 2 instant recovery Divine flasks with bleed removal, Quicksilver flask with increased movement speed (of adrenaline), Granite flask with increased armour and Basalt flask with freeze removal.
Does the axe have to be 6 linked? Or does links not matter at all because all are supports?
Axe does not have to be 6-linked, unlinked 6 sockets just work as supports.
so 6-link give no benefit? SO i save ALOT of money?
Sorry for spamming, but to rephrase my questions:
Will a 6 socket(no links) axe perform the same as a 6socket-6link axe with this build?
Yes, it will. Links do not provide additional value for this axe since all gems we are socketing in it support Molten Burst.
Hi!
How do you fit in life leech to your build without warlords mark, gems or stats on items?
Do you go for it on jewels? If so, how much is needed to outleech?
Or do you have special flask for this?
I altered build and used Life leech gem in Cyclone and Molten burst setup and could easily outleech Ele reflect maps and facetank stuff.
I think you misspelled there its not bloodmagic red but the green one since the red one is support and the green one is the one giving frenzy charges
Sorry, but I don’t understand what you mean by that.
Very quickly ends mana, what to do
Mana leech node in skill tree should solve that – also keep one mana potion on you if problem is that bad.
How would a Fireborn Crimson Jewel work for this build in the Duelist Jewel Node?
This build converts all the physical damage to fire damage anyways, so I don’t think it would have lots of value there.
How do you get enough INT to use Inc AOE so early?
INT on rings should solve this problem.
How do you get enough INT to use all gems and items?
I had int on ring, crafted it on gloves and had it on jewel; you can choose whichever option you’d like but getting enough on rings would probably be the best solution.
could you use a duelist for this build?
Probably yes, but that would be pretty different build, this one is planned around Ranger.
Genuinely curious why most cyclone builds take “Resolute technique”? I understand cyclone hits a lot but you have a lot of accuracy rating. Just can’t comprehend why just giving up crit chance is a good idea, I must be missing something.
