[3.2] Blade Flurry Scion (Raider/Elementalist)

Intro & build description

Build shines taking down extremely high health targets like guardians, shaper, atziri and uber atziri. If you haven’t killed atziri, shaper or guardians – you might want to invest in this one since it has huge damage potential and great mobility.  We are talking millions of damage with proper gear and jewels.  If fast paced map clearing while doing massive amounts of damage is something you are looking for, this build is for you.

Build Pros

  • Extreme damage (seriously)
  • Great clear speed
  • Insane boss killing potential with investment
  • Decent league starter, all you need is Moonbender's Wing
  • 100% uptime of frenzy charges and onslaught
  • 2 golems
  • Guardians/Shaper/Uber Atziri viable

Build Cons

  • Extremely well rolled damage jewels are expensive

Helmet

Abyssus

Use abyssus for most damage or any rare helmet with high life and elemental resistances to play it safer. Rat’s Nest is great alternative which provides good dps without downside of abyssus.

Body Armour

Astral Plate

Astral Plate is best rare chest piece because it has elemental resistance implicit, which makes it so much easier to cap them. If your resistances are capped, belly of the beast could be great alternative as well.

Gloves

Spiked Gloves

Life, attack speed, elemental resistances and physical damage to attacks.

Boots

Kaom's Roots

Lots of life, stun immunity, freeze immunity and Temporal Chains immunity. Any rare boots with high movement speed, life and elemental resistances will do just fine till you find/buy Kaom’s Roots.

Left Ring

Steel Ring

Flat physical damage to attacks, life, elemental resistances and accuracy/elemental damage with attacks.

Right Ring

Steel Ring

Flat physical damage to attacks, life, elemental resistances and accuracy/elemental damage with attacks.

Amulet

Rare Amulet

Life, global critical strike chance, global critical strike multiplier and flat physical damage to attacks.

Belt

Belt of the Deceiver

Great belt overall, you take 30% reduced extra damage from critical strikes and nearby enemies are Intimidated, which means affected targets  take 10% increased damage.

1Hand Weapon

Rare Claw

Rare claw with 250+ pDPS, high crit chance and decent attack speed is a way to go. Touch of Anguish is great alternative if you can’t get high physical damage claw at given time.

Offhand

Moonbender's Wing

Core item for the build, hence the name. Place it in offhand for physical to elemental conversion.

Jewel

Jewels

Jewels are meant to be used to help balance your build. If you are res capped, then go for damage type jewels.

Stats on rare jewels:

  1. Attack speed
  2. Attack speed with claws
  3. Global critical strike multiplier
  4. Maximum life
  5. Global critical strike chance
  6. Resistances (if needed)

Flask

Flasks

Flask Setup:

  1. Seething Divine Life Flask of Staunching
  2. Chemist’s Diamond Flask of Warding
  3. Taste of Hate
  4. The Wise Oak or Sin’s Rebirth
  5. Ample Quicksilver Flask of Adrenaline

Leveling:

1. From level 1-12 use a skill like Frost Blades (you could also use frost bomb to help with single target).
2. Buy Ancestral Protector from Vendor (should be available after level 4 quests).
3. At about level 12 get the Sunder skill (should be a quest reward).
4. Do all the quests until you get to act 2, here you should get Herald of Ash after completing a quest. Herald of Ash should always be used as it provides you with a damage boost, especially for mapping.
5. Complete all the quests until act 3. Here you should be able to get Hatred from a quest. Just as HoA, use Hatred as an aura to help boost your damage even more.
6. Get blade flurry as a quest reward after killing General Gravicius in Act 3. However, don’t use this skill. Put it in your weapon swap to level it up so you can use it later.
7. Continue to level up and do all the quests until you get to level 39. Buy the Moonbender’s Wing unique axe (it should only be one Alchemy, use poe.trade), continue to level with this as your main weapon using Sunder. This weapon is our end-game, so keep using it until you switch over to blade flurry.
8. I recommend leveling all the way up to level 70+ using Sunder. Once you are ready to use Blade Flurry and have all the required gear then you can switch over to Blade Flurry. Some unique claws that you may use to level up with if using Blade Flurry includes:

-Ornament of the East (lvl 46)
-Wasp Nest (lvl 60)
-Touch of Anguish (lvl 68)

  1. What is the source of your Frenzy Charges? One of the ‘pros’ in your ‘pros and cons’ list is 100% uptime of frenzy charges and onslaught, and I can’t figure out where you’re getting frenzy from.

  2. Would you recommend the new abyss jewels and belt?

  3. What is Phanteon

  4. How u feel about using Bloodseeker instead of rare claw? Has lower damage but maybe you can skip VP an get damage elsewhere?

    • Might work, give it a shot and tell us how it goes 🙂

      • It works pretty well, i feel much safer now! Im not sure yet, what to do with the spare skill points, i got now. Wether I put them into into more life or more damage. After I read something about it, i also changed my last ascendancy from elementalist to assasin. This works really good, too During mapping you always got power charges und bosses are still melting! Im at lvl 90 right now and finished my first corrupted tier 15 map without dying. Right now I cant see any downsides, but I´d like to hear other opinions on this.

        • I dont see the great advantage of the elemtalist class after the changes of the reflect mechanics in 3.1. Of course, I might be wrong…

  5. I can levelup all jewels to maximum lvl?

  6. What do you think about using Lightning Coil, is it better than belly?
