[PoE 3.11 Build] Toxic Rain/Caustic Arrow Tanky Shadow (Trickster)

Intro & build description

Great build to start in a fresh economy or explore SSF since every part of the gear can be crafted and we don’t rely on any specific uniques for the build to work. If you have never tried a  poison-based bow build before, this build should carry you from leveling into the endgame with ease.

Build Pros

  • Cheap to start with
  • Can do pretty much every map mod
  • SSF viable
  • Tanky
  • Fast clear speed

Build Cons

  • Need to swap between CA/TR

Helmet

Rare Hubris Circlet

You can craft a Hubris Helmet by using Dense Fossil + Aberrant Fossil.
This will get a -9% chaos resistance mod to monsters nearby you and buffing your damage. I personally like the second option most, but it’s very RNG based and can take loads of attempts to get a High ES + -9% chaos res.

Body Armour

Rare Body Armor

Endgame gear is a Sadist Garb or Carnal Armour with Flat ES/Eva and % Es/Eva + Free Prefix for +10% life as Energy Shield.

You can craft it with Dense Fossil, Alterations or Chaos Spam.

Gloves

Shaper's Touch

Shaper’s Touch provides loads of Evasion and Energy Shield.

Rare version: Life, Resistance, Attack Speed, ES Based.

Boots

Atziri's Step

Atziri’s Step is a decent starter boot, but you will need boots with resistance in lategame. If you have room for crafting, you can craft a hybrid ele/chaos res mod for more chaos resistance.

Left Ring

Rare Ring

Rings: Life, Resistance, Hybrid Templemod (Mana + -6/8 manacost) or Crafted -9 Elreon Mod, Mana Regen, Energy Shield and crafted minimum frenzy charges or Chaos Resistance if you need it.

Right Ring

Rare Unset Ring

Rings: Life, Resistance, Hybrid Templemod (Mana + -6/8 manacost) or Crafted -9 Elreon Mod, Mana Regen, Energy Shield and crafted minimum frenzy charges or Chaos Resistance if you need it.

Amulet

Rare Agate Amulet

Amulet: iLvl 82 Hunter Based. +1 Dex/Chaos Gems, Life, Energy Shield, Chaos Dot Multi and Resistances are good mods.

Belt

Cyclopean Coil

Cyclopean Coil can provide Immunity to Shock and Ignite, which is one of our weakpoints due to low lifepool(about 5k).
It also provides 40% or more increased damage and decent amount of life.

Alternatively you can use a rare belt with life and resistance.

Quiver

Rare Penetrating Arrow Quiver

Life, Attack Speed, Chaos dot multi, dot multi, Chaos resistance or Resistances.

Can be Crafted with Aberrant + Pristine fossils.

2Hand Weapon

Rare Bow

There’s tons of options for bows and you can slowly upgrade.
The most important mods on a bow is +1 gems and +2 bow gems.

You can get a cheap 6link bow with Imperial Legacy cards.
You can use fossils to craft a bow: Corroded + Metallic + Jagged will lock out
all prefixes except +1 gem/+2 support and leave a spot open for +40% chaos dot multi.

Jewel

Unnatural Instinct or Intuitive Leap

Intuitive Leap is used in the jewel slot next to Pain Attunement keystone to grab Overcharged, Dreamer and Melding notables.

Jewel

Thread of Hope

Thread of Hope – Small Radius, Least resistance penalty. Use this to get Phase Acrobatics and Silent Steps

Jewel

Watcher's Eye

Watcher’s eye –
Clarity – Extra ES from mana
Malevolence – Extra Chaos Damage over time multiplier

Jewel

Rare Jewels

  1. Increased maximum life
  2. Increased damage over time
  3. Increased chaos damage
  4. Resistances

Flask

Flask Setup

  1. Seething Divine Life Flask of Staunching
  2. Experimenter’s Quartz Flask of Warding
  3. Experimenter’s Sulphur Flask of Heat
  4. Dying Sun
  5. Experimenter’s Quicksilver Flask of Adrenaline
