Intro & build description
This Summon Raging spirit build is using The Baron unique helmet as build enabler. This helm adds your strength to your minions and since Raging spirits use attacks, it also boosts their damage and your survivability. Although The Baron got nerfed for 3.1, SRS got buffed as a skill and is still in a great position as a starter build.
Build Pros

- Beginner-friendly
- Scales very well with currency investment

Astral PlateTry to get body armour with at least 85 to maximum life, some resistances and strength. You don’t need it to be 6-linked so getting good armour shouldn’t be a problem.
Gloves
Titan GauntletsOn gloves look for at least 70 to maximum life, some resistances and strength if you can afford it.
Another great alternative would be Grip of The Council as it gives us strenth, some life and res coupled with great minion damage stats. These gloves will probably not be the cheapest option though.
Boots
Titan GreavesOn boots look for at least 25% movement speed, 85 maximum life, some resistances and strength.
Left Ring
Two-Stone RingGo for 2 Two-Stone rings with life, resistances and strength. Cast speed is a nice bonus but not essential.
Amulet
Onyx AmuletOn amulet look for maximum life, all attributes, strength.
Another great alternative is getting Astramentis if you have some extra currency.
Belt
Heavy BeltLook for Heavy belt base with life, strength and some resistances. Mastercrafted movement speed is a nice bonus.
2Hand Weapon
Serpentine StaffStaff is pretty important for this build. You should look for 6-linked staff with +2 to level of fire gems and cast speed on it. Later on you should craft Gems in this item are Supported by level 1 Blood Magic Vagan mod on the staff.
Great way to get 6-linked staff is to collect or buy The Dark Mage divination cards (they are usually rather cheap) and craft the staff yourself.
Flask
Flask setup1.) Instant Recovery Divine Life Flask (Seething prefix)
2.) Instant Recovery Divine Life Flask with bleed removal
3.) Eternal life flask with extra charges and bleed removal
4.) Basalt Flask of Iron skin
5.) Granite Flask or Quicksilver flask (your preference)
Jewel
Jewel setupOn jewels look for these stats in priority:
1.) Minion damage
2.) Life
3.) Strength
4.) Resistances if you are lacking
5.) Cast speed
Leveling:
Use freezing pulse / flame totem to level.
At level 8 you can use Melee Splash Support and Minion Damage Support – link these 2 gems to Summon Raging Spirit.
For faster progress, good idea is to get Brightbeak and use Shield Charge – Fortify – Faster Attacks setup.
Start saving up for Baron as soon as possible – you can equip it at level 26 and with the helmet you will be able to get to maps and a bit further. That’s when 2hand weapon comes in and with that combination you should be able to do all games content including Shaper, Uber Atziri, 99% sure that also Elder and his guardians.
Hi, totally new to PoE and started two days ago. In act 3 currently, playing with this build and having tons of fun.
Still dont understand some of the mechanics tho, like what is the point of “melee splash support” being linked to raging spirits? I’ve just got an item with 4 gems linked, 3 blues and 1 red. I’ve put in summon raging spirits, Raise zombie, minion damage support and finally the melee splash support. Now the 3 blue gems seem to be linked correctly and workin fine, but the melee splash support doesnt seem to be workin. Have I understood something wrong here?
Thanks in advance if anyone happens to read this and has more experience with the game.
Hi. The purpose of Melee Splash is to allow your Raging Spirits attack in AoE.
They use attacks as their way of dealing damage and linking Melee Splash Support to them ensures that their attacks deal splash damage to nearby targets.
Another thing you should do is to substitute Raise Zombie gem with another support gem for your Raging Spirits.
It says the build is beginner friendly The baron is 200+ chaos….
It is, The Baron is around 120-150 now, which can be acquired in 2 days easily just by doing chaos recipes and running maps / higher level areas before maps.
What Gods uses to the build?
