[3.14 PoE Build] Ignite Discharge Marauder (Chieftain)

Intro & build description

Discharge was one of the skills reworked in Heist. Now that the skill is tested we can say that it is definitely up to par with other skills right now. This Discharge build is perfect for Ultimatum league, since it has a huge area of effect and tons of single target damage in form of ignites, reaching up to 20 million+ damage.

Helmet

Rare helmet

Ideal helmet would have: high life, nearby enemies have -9% to fire resistance, +1 level of socketed AoE gems and 140% increased duration of ailments you inflict while focussed.

For easier craft or purchase, drop +1 level of AoE gems mod.


Body Armour

Rare Astral Plate with Shaper influence

Look for Astral Plate with +1 to Socketed Active Skill gems mod, high life and resistances. Craft % Increased maximum life and mana on the body armour.


Gloves

Rare Gloves with Shaper Influence

Look for rare gloves with x% to fire damage over time multiplier and high life. Resistances would be great as well.


Boots

Kaom's Roots

Since the build can deal with having less gem sockets, Kaom’s Roots is a perfect pair for the build.

Ideally, you should corrupt them for +1 to maximum endurance charges, but leave that for late game when you are geared.


Left Ring

Kaom's Way

As many endurance charge builds tend to, this build uses 2x Kaom’s Way rings. They give us a lot of survivability in a form of regen and each gives +1 to maximum endurance charges.

Note: If you are buying them, don’t get scammed by people who try to sell you Kaom’s Sign which has identic item model but is way cheaper.

Same as previously mentioned ring.


Amulet

Rare Amulet with Shaper influence

Look for shaper influenced amulet with at least 80 item level. Main mods we are looking for are: x% to fire damage over time multiplier coupled with high life.

Other useful mods would be increased fire damage or attributes.


Belt

Rare Stygian Vise

Look for rare Stygian Vise with high life, increased fire damage and some resistances. You could also craft %increased damage with the crafting bench.


1Hand Weapon

Rare Sceptre / Wand

The ideal weapon for this build would have fire damage over time multiplier, +1 to all spell skill gems and +1 to all fire spell skill gems. Since that would be really expensive, only pick one of the +1 to skill gem levels mod. Other good mods to have/craft would be spell damage and damage per endurance charge.


Offhand

Redblade Banner

A must-have shield for the build, allowing us to easily generate Endurance charges which is mandatory for Discharge builds.


Jewel

Jewel Setup

Really great damage jewel for the build would be Watcher’s Eye with “+x% to Damage over Time Multiplier while affected by Malevolence” mod.

On regular rare jewels look for:

1.) Fire damage over time multiplier
2.) Increased maximum life
3.) Increased burning damage
4.) Increased Fire damage


Flask

Flask Setup

1.) Divine Life flask with freeze removal
2.) Cinderswallow Urn
3.) Rumi’s Concoction
4.) Sulphur Flask with bleed removal
5.) Quicksilver Flask of Adrenaline

  1. cool build , switched my rf chieftain to discharge igniting easily with not much changes in gear/passives
    dot damage is insane , aoe is hugeee and clearing just a breeze
    more cons : map mods with ‘ monster have #% chance to avoid elemental ailments ‘ is no go.

    – can run same build on elementalist with all hits always ignite to bypass this and get reflect immune /still pref chieftain/jugg cause easy to grab/gain all end charges
    – more active playstyle with %cooldown reduction
