[3.22] Venom Gyre Deadeye (League Starter)

Intro & build description

Venom gyre is a fantastic choice for an elemental damage build, although the name wouldn’t exactly suggest that. The skill itself is quite unique, and works together with whirling blades, making the projectiles return to you. This synergy creates an ability to clear really fast and deal a lot of single target damage – everything you’d want in a starter build. This is one of my personal favorite builds and I’d suggest that you give it a go as well.

Build Pros

  • Cheap - perfect for a league start
  • Very fast leveling due to the nature of the skill
  • Can obliterate uber bosses with some currency invested
  • Very fast map clear

Build Cons

  • Can get one-shot occasionally, but has good life gained on hit as well as damage reduction from Focal point ascendancy

Helmet

Rare Blizzard Crown

Look for Blizzard crown as a base, with “Venom Gyre has a 25% chance to keep each caught Projectile fired with whirling blades” lab enchant.

Use essence to craft reservation efficiency on it by using Deafening Essence of Loathing, ideally together with some life and resistance or 2.

Until you can afford it, use regular rare helmet with high life and resistances.

Body Armour

Rare body armour

Similar to the helmet, we are looking for reservation efficiency on body armour.

You can just buy and 6-linked body armour, use essence of loathing for reservation efficiency + some life and resistances, craft % life and mana and call it a day.

Gloves

Kaom's Spirit

Great gloves for this version (Rage) of the build, which allow us to keep it up.

Before you can get these, use regular rare gloves with life and resistances.

Boots

Atziri's Step

Atziri’s Step is a fantastic, inexpensive, farmable option due to the high life, movement speed and most importantly – spell suppression.

Before acquiring these, any boots with 30% movement speed, res and life would do the trick.

Left Ring

The Taming

This build uses 2x The Taming rings, that are perfect for us due to very high damage that we get from them.

Right Ring

The Taming

Build uses 2x of these.

Amulet

Rare Amulet

Look for a rare amulet with high life, global critical strike multiplier and elemental damage with attack skills.

Belt

Rare Stygian Vise

Look for rare stygian vise with high life, elemental damage with attack skills and resistances.

1Hand Weapon

Rare Imperial Claw

Look for or craft an Imperial Claw with following mods at the minimum:

1) Increased attack speed (25%+)
2) Increased critical strike chance (30%+)
3) 15-300 lightning damage

Any other offensive mods like cold damage or fire damage on top of the core would be great.

Best way to guarantee 2 of these mods every time is to buy Imperial Claw with one of the 3 core mods fractured and spamming the claw with essences. It’s likely that you would get a good, usable weapon quite soon.

Offhand

Rare Shield

Look for rare shield with as much spell suppression and life as you can. Craft attack speed or elemental damage with attacks on it.

Any resistance / evasion mods would be good bonuses.

Jewel

Jewels

This build uses regular rare jewels and 3 cluster jewels.

On regular jewels look for:

1) Maximum life
2) Lightning damage to attacks
3) Attack speed

On cluster jewels look for:

1) On Large cluster look for Fan of Blades, Heavy Hitter and Wind-up notables.

2) On Medium cluster look for Eye to Eye and Repeater mods.

3) Endgame version of the build also uses The Interrogation unique jewel to gain Secrets of Suffering. At the start of the league, this jewel is usually expensive, but drops off quite soon after.

4) Build can also optionally use Watcher’s Eye with Anger and Precision mods – whichever you can get.

Flask

Flask Setup

Build uses following flasks:

1) Divine Life Flask with instant recovery
2) Bottled Faith / Dying Sun (Optional)
3) Diamond Flask
4) Silver Flask
5) Granite Flask
