Intro & build description
This Tornado Shot build is not the regular ranger build – it really surpasses most bow builds in terms of damage and it is because of the impale mechanic. I will not go into detail how this debuff works, but know this – it is in a really great spot right now. The build is a great league starter and with items, it easily scales into more than 5 Million DPS monster.
Build Pros
- Great clear speed and above-average movement speed
- Exceptional single-target damage - can easily kill every boss in the game
- Build that can reliably get at least 3 rows of loot in 5 Emblem Domain of Timeless conflict
- Tanky due to Vaal molten shell and regular molten shell procs
- Perfect league starter build with many itemization options
Build Cons
- Can get expensive if you want to min-max

Devoto's Devotion or Rare HelmetThere are more than 1 option for the helm slot in this build.
Ideally, you would want a Devoto’s Devotion with extra Tornado Shot projectile enchantment, but that would be ridiculously expensive. Regular Devoto’s will probably be expensive at the start of the new league, so you should get it when you have enough currency – it is by no means a priority item.
You could do very well with rare armour helmet with at least 80 life and as high resistances as you can get.
Body Armour
Daresso's DefianceThe build uses Daresso’s Defiance due to its movement speed bonus and Onslaught effect as well. It works really great as a defensive option as well, since all of the evasion is periodically turned into armour due to Arborix bow.
Gloves
Oskarm / Tombfist / Haemophilia / Shadows and DustThis build has a lot of great choices in glove slot.
You could go for Haemophilia and nice corpse explosions, Oskarm for damage and Assassin’s Mark on Hit, Tombfist for damage and jewel slots or Shadows and Dust for damage and clearspeed.
At the beginning, I’d recommend you going for any of these gloves as long as you can get them with “Curse enemies with level x Vulnerability on Hit” corruption. When you have more currency, you could go for the exact gloves that you prefer – in my case that would be Shadows and Dust because I love rampage.
Boots
Rare Armour BootsGo for rare armour boots with ~80 life, 30% movement speed and resistances.
Two-Toned boots is also a great option.
Left Ring
Rare Shaped RingLook for rare Shaper ring with life, resistances, and, if you are not using Oskarm gloves – “Curse enemies with Level x Assassin’s Mark on Hit”.
Even if you are using Oskarm, it’s better to get Shaper rare ring, because it gives you option to use Mark of The Elder if you want more damage for the build.
Right Ring
Rare Ring / Mark of The ElderLook for rare ring with at least 60 life and as much resistances as you can get. Accuracy is not a bad stat on a piece of jewelry as well.
If you want to push the build, have some extra currency and no need for resistances from this ring slot, you could go for Mark of The Elder.
Amulet
Rare Amulet with extra curseFor your amulet slot, you would need an amulet with extra curse implicit so we can use Vulnerability and Assassin’s Mark.
Mainly look for life on the amulet, buy any damage stats like critical strike chance or multiplier would be good bonuses, however, extra curse is the main thing we are looking for.
Belt
Stygian ViseLook for rare Stygian vise with at least 80 life and as much resistances as possible.
Quiver
Rigwald's QuillsRigwald’s Quills is an exceptional quiver for the build, Fork is really valuable for Tornado Shot.
Until you can afford this quiver, Drillneck is a perfectly fine alternative which usually costs no more than a few Chaos.
2Hand Weapon
ArborixThis is our weapon of choice for the build – make getting this bow a priority when spending your currency.
It has a lot of physical dps and its rotating bonuses are extremely valuable, not to mention the fact that it has 2 extra arrows built in.
You should also look to quality it using Hillock, because it’s very valuable in terms of damage on this particular item.
Until you can afford it, Death’s Opus or a rare bow with decent physical damage can carry you through the maps.
Jewel
Lioneye's FallIdeally the build requires 2 of these jewels. One goes into the jewel slot near Point Blank, another one in the slot on the left from Blade of The Cunning notable.
Jewel
Rare JewelsOn your rare jewels look for:
1.) Increased maximum life
2.) Any attack speed mods
3.) Damage / Projectile damage mods
4.) Resistances or attributes if you need them
Flask
Flask SetupBuild uses following flasks:
1.) Dying Sun
2.) Quicksilver Flask of Adrenaline
3.) Diamond Flask with freeze removal
4.) Instant Recovery Divine Life flask with bleed removal
5.) Granite Flask as a defensive option / Sin’s Rebirth or Atziri’s Promise as an offensive option
Curious about the sword passives you took in the lower left corner, does Iron grip make those apply to bows as well?
No, we take them because we use Lioneye’s Fall jewel.
