[PoE 3.9] CI Purifying Flame Marauder (Chieftain)

Intro & build description

Ever wanted to play a build that can easily face tank Shaper? Well, this is your chance. This particular Chieftain build can conservatively achieve around 15k Energy shield, even get close to 20k with enough min-maxing.
Usually, extreme tank builds lack damage, but in this instance, that’s not the case – build does around 1 Million DPS when optimized.

Build Pros

  • Extremely tanky - can face tank Shaper slam and beam
  • It's cheaper than you'd think - most of the unique items build uses, go for no more than 10 chaos
  • Great AoE clear, as well as single-target damage
  • Can be leveled as a generic spellcaster

Build Cons

  • Not a beginner-friendly build, since it involves some complex game mechanics
  • Min-maxing can get expensive

Rare Energy Shield Helmet

Look for rare energy shield helmet with at least 50 strength on it.
The more energy shield it has on top of that, the better.

You should consider crafting Aspect of The Spider on it as well.

Body Armour

Geofri's Sanctuary

Must-have chest armor for this build, there are no alternatives, since we stack strength.

Shaper's Touch

Also a must-have item, since we get even more energy shield from the unique mod of these gloves.

Alberon's Warpath

Great, cheap boots for the build. We use them for the % Increased Strength mod.

Left Ring

Dream Fragments

Great ring to deal with freezes and chills.

When you can afford it, get one with “% Increased Strength” corruption.

Right Ring

Rare Resistance ring

Look for rare ring with at least 50 strength, high resistances and +to maximum energy shield mod.

Three Rat Talisman

You should look for Three Rat Talisman with 50 strength. Other stats like energy shield or resistances would be great bonuses but not mandatory.

Rare Elder Heavy Belt

Look for Elder Heavy belt with %increased attributes and at least 50 strength.

You can craft strength and intelligence mod on top of these mods on your crafting bench as well.

1Hand Weapon

Doon Cuebiyari

Weapon of choice for lots of strength stacking builds.

Elder Sceptre

This build uses Elder sceptre with “3% Increased Area of Effect per 50 Strength” mod. Once you get this mod, multimod the sceptre and craft:

1.) Trigger a Socketed Spell when you use a skill
2.) Spell damage
3.) Gain % of Fire Damage as extra chaos damage
4.) Mod of choice

Lethal Pride

Look for Lethal Pride with:

“Commanded leadership over¬†12000-13000¬†warriors under Kaom / Kiloava / Rakiata”.

Put this jewel in the slot between Faith and Steel and Devotion.

Efficient Training

You will need 3 of these jewels.

Put 1st in the slot on the right from Instability node.

Put 2nd in the slot between Hex Master and Essence Surge nodes.

Put 3rd in the slot just right from Quick Recovery notable.

Might of The Meek

Put Might of The Meek in the jewel slot just right from Ophidian Aim notable.

Put this in any free slot that is not reserved for previously mentioned jewels.

Emperor's Might

Great jewel for the build, albeit bit pricey.

Put this in any free slot that is not reserved for previously mentioned jewels.

Emperor's Mastery

Expensive jewel, but well worth it if you have the currency for it.

Put this in any free slot that is not reserved for previously mentioned jewels.

Build uses following flasks:

1.) Atziri’s Promise
2.) Basalt Flask with curse removal
3.) The Wise Oak
