[3.0] 2H Resolute Technique Sunder Duelist (Slayer)

Intro & build description

After Sunder buff in patch 2.6 it has became one of the most popular skills. This is pretty easy to play and gear build that can be played as league starter because it doesn’t require tons of investment to be successful. If you like melee characters, definitely give it a go.

Build Pros

  • Can run almost all map mods
  • Fast clear
  • Cheap to start off and scales well with more currency investment
  • Good survivability

Build Cons

  • Should avoid reflect maps

Devoto's Devotion

Great all-around helm for the build, good defense, some offense and movement speed.

Body Armour

Astral Plate

Look for 6-linked Astral Plate with high life, resistances and as much armour as you can find.

Good idea is to buy or farm Celestial Justicar divination cards for white 6-linked Astral Plate and using Chaos Orbs on it until you get something nice – I always do that and eventually hit something really good.

Spiked Gloves

Look for Spiked Gloves base with life, resistances and high armour. If you can afford it, attack speed and physical damage to attacks are nice options.

Titan Greaves

Look for boots with at least 30% movement speed, life and resistances – high armour is a good bonus.

Left Ring

Essence Worm

This ring allows us to use 3 auras at the same time – Herald of Ash, Arctic Armour and Hatred.

You must put Hatred skill gem in socket of this ring.

Right Ring

Two-Stone Ring

On ring, look for life, resistances and attributes (dexterity / intelligence) if you are missing some. Attack speed and Elemental Damage With Weapons is a nice bonus on.

Leather Belt

Look for Leather belt (defensive option) or Rustic Sash (Offensive option) with life, high resistances. If you can afford it, combine those 2 stats with armour or elemental damage with weapons.

2Hand Weapon

Kongor's Undying Rage

This is really nice weapon for the build as it lets us skip Resolute Technique keysone on the tree.

Until you get it use mace with as high physical damage as you can find/buy.

On jewels look for following stats:

1.) Increased maximum life
2.) Increased physical damage with maces
3.) Increased Area damage
4.) Increased attack speed
5.) Increased damage
6.) Any attributes or resistances that you are lacking

Flask Setup

Good flask setup for the build:

1.) Divine life flask with instant recovery
2.) Divine life flask with instant recovery and bleed removal
3.) Lion’s Roar
4.) Taste of Hate
5.) Basalt flask with freeze removal or Quicksilver flask with freeze removal

Feel free to share your thoughts/experiences/tips about the build in comments section below.

About gems

Always tries to keep up with the game, its ever-changing mechanisms and explain them in understandable manner.

  1. Nice build. I was wondering why take splitting strikes when we are using Kongor’s Undying Rage? Wouldnt bloody bludgeon be better? Thanks for the answer and keep up the good work!

  2. instead of going other crit flicker buid can i change sunder with flicker gem ? because other flicker build looks not ok like something missing but with this build i can make maps and labs and change it to flicker when everything is ready

  3. So i see immortal call support but no endurance charge generation, what gives?

  4. Hello. Would it be better to not take splitting strikes and take Unwavering stance instead since we already take Iron reflexes? I just started playing again and took this build as my to go build.

  5. hey, im having problems getting enough intelligence, any recommendations?
