This Ice trap saboteur starter build for Scourge league will definitely interest you if you like good AoE, freezing, and shattering everything. This build provides a really safe, engaging gameplay that with enough investment, can do all the content game has to offer.

- Good survivability with decent life + energy shield pool, recovery from Tinkerskin

Rare HelmetLook for rare helmet with at least 80 to maximum life and as high resistances as possible.
Good endgame helmet would also have “nearby enemies have -x% to cold resistance” mod.
Body Armour
TinkerskinOne of the best items in the game for trappers. It gives us life, energy shield and frenzy charge generation.
It also has great defensive capabilities in the form of phasing and life & energy shield recovery on trap triggers.
Gloves
Slavedriver's HandGreat gloves for trappers. They give a great increase to trap throwing speed by utilizing cast speed.
They also have other modifiers that are desirable for trappers, for example charge generation and spending life instead of mana for trap throwing.
Until you can get these gloves, use rare ones with high life and resistances.
Boots
Rare BootsLook for rare boots with 80+ to maximum life, 30% increased movement speed and some resistances.
Left Ring
Rare RingLook for rare ring with “Curse enemies level x frostbite on hit” mod and some life.
Right Ring
Malachai's ArtificeWe use Malachai’s Artifice and socket Armageddon Brand in it to apply Elemental Equilibrium as well as frostbite on hit from other ring’s mod.
Amulet
Rare AmuletOur ideal amulet would have at least 70 maximum life, global critical strike multiplier and +1 to level of all cold skill gems.
1Hand Weapon
Rare SceptreLook for rare sceptre with at least 60% increased spell damage, +1 to level of all spell skill gems and some cast speed. You can bench craft critical strike for spells on it later.
We use sceptre so we can use shield charge, which cannot be used with wands.
Offhand
Rare shieldLook for rare shield with %increased spell damage, +1 to level of all cold spell skill gems and if you can afford it, critical strike chance for spells on top of that. Cast speed is a great mod to bench craft afterwards.
Jewel
Jewel SetupBuild uses 3 rare jewels. Look for following mods on them:
1) Increased maximum life
2) Global critical strike multiplier / critical strike multiplier with cold or elemental skills
3) Spell damage while holding a shield mod
4) Any resistance or attribute mods if you are lacking
A good endgame option would be Watcher’s Eye with any beneficial Zealotry mods you can get, like increased cast speed or elemental penetration.
Flask
Flask SetupBuild uses following flasks:
1) Life flask with instant recovery and bleed removal
2) Quicksilver Flask of Adrenaline
3) Bottled Faith (Cheap and good alternative would be Atziri’s Promise)
4) Diamond Flask with freeze removal
5) Quartz Flask with curse removal
