[3.18] Seismic Trap / Exsanguinate Saboteur | Full Build Guide

Intro & build description

The seismic trap saboteur was THE build of Scourge league, melting bosses and easily handling map clears. While trap damage was nerfed a bit in 3.17, this build still remains an exceptional starter build for Sentinel League. The final build version can definitely run the cost up to quite a few exalts, however, you will be able to comfortably map with 5-linked body armor and random rares in the first days of the league.

Contrary to lots of seismic trap builds, this one doesn’t use brutality – we use Sin’s Rebirth for 30% extra chaos damage as well as 20% more evasion rating since this build heavily utilizes evasion.

This build also stacks more auras than the average seismic trap build.
Auras & reservation skills that we use:

1) Pride
2) Grace
3) Herald of Purity
4) Summon Skitterbots

To deal with the mana reservation costs, we allocate reservation efficiency nodes on the skill tree, use Circle of Guilt with reduced reservation mod as well as socket our auras in a helmet with synthesized implicit mod “Socketed Skill Gems Get A x% Cost & Reservation Multiplier”. And to be able to reserve as much mana as possible, we use Life Tap to spend life on spell casts + Saboteur ascendancy & Tinkerskin to quickly regain back the life that we spent.

Helmet

Rare Evasion Helmet with Synthesis implicit

We use synthesized helmet to be able to use 4 mana reservation skills.

Look for one with “Socketed Skill Gems Get A 90-92% Cost & Reservation Multiplier” implicit mod. After you have it, craft it with essences to have at least 70 life and 2 resistances above 30.

+1 to level of Socketed AoE gems is a nice bench craft for the helm if you have free affix available for it.


Body Armour

Tinkerskin

Tinkerskin is a great body armour for trappers with a lot of utility.

We get frenzy charge generation, phasing and life recovery: all things that are otherwise not easy to come by for trap builds.


Gloves

Rare Gloves with support gem mod

We use our gloves for Exsanguinate trap setup, so we need ones with additional support gem.

So you should look for Shaper influence gloves with “Socketed Gems are Supported by Level X Trap And Mine Damage” mod. Life, resistances or strength would be good additional mods to have on top of the gem mod.


Boots

Rare Two-Toned boots

Ideally, look for Two-Toned boots with ES/Evasion, at least 80 life and 30% increased movement speed.

On top of the life and MS, any resistances and “Chance to Suppress Spell damage” mods would be really good, but wouldn’t come cheap.


Left Ring

Rare ring with vulnerability on hit

This build uses 1 rare ring with Curse Enemies with Vulnerability on Hit, with 20% increased Effect mod.

This mod is obtainable on Warlord influenced rings.

Other good mods to have are life, strength and resistances, but not mandatory.


Right Ring

Circle of Guilt

Look for Circle of Guilt with following mods:

1) Herald of Purity has 37%+ increased Mana Reservation Efficiency

 

2) x% increased Physical Damage while affected by Herald of Purity.

Amulet

Rare Amulet

Look for +1 to level of all physical skill gems as the main mod on the amulet. Pair it with global critical strike multiplier and life and you have yourself an endgame amulet.

Prior to this expansion, + to level of skill gems mod was obtainable only on influenced items, but in Siege of the Atlas it will be included into core mod pool, so it should probably be way easier to obtain.


Belt

Rare Stygian Vise

Look for rare Stygian Vise with at least 80 to maximum life and as much resistance as possible.

Strength is also a good mod to have on belt if resistances are capped.


1Hand Weapon

Cold Iron Point

We use 2 of these daggers on our endgame build.

Before you can afford Cold Iron Points, wands/scepters with % increased spell damage and +1 to all physical spell skill gems mod should carry you though the maps quite easily.


Offhand

Cold Iron Point

Same as previously mentioned weapon.


Jewel

Cluster Jewels

This build uses 3 cluster jewels: 1 large and 2 medium. Try to get large one with 8 passives and medium ones with 4 passives.

On Large cluster jewel we look for:

1) Battle Hardened
2) Force Multiplier

On Medium cluster jewels we look for:

First one:
1) Arcane Pyrotechnics
2) Guerilla Tactics

Second one:
1) Set and Forget
2) Guerilla Tactics


Jewel

Regular Rare Jewels

In addition to cluster jewels, this build uses regular rare jewels.

On jewels, look for following mods:

1) Increased maximum life / + to maximum life(Abyss)
2) Increased spell damage while dual wielding
3) Global critical strike multiplier
4) Intelligence or Strength
5) Resistances if you cannot cap them with regular gear


Flask

Flasks

Build uses following flasks:

1) Divine flask with bleed removal and instant recovery
2) Sin’s Rebirth
3) Diamond Flask
4) Quicksilver Flask
5) Jade Flask
