Intro & build description
Splitting steel is ones of those solid all-arounder builds that you can get to do almost anything. It’s tanky, has decent life pool and obliterates most of the content you are likely to encounter. Due to its tankiness, the build is perfect for the new challenges of Necropolis.

Rare Armor / Evasion HelmetLook for a simple rare helmet with high life, 10% mana reservation efficiency for skills and craft +1 socketed projectile gems.
Such helmet can be easily essence-crafted by yourself.
Body Armour
Rare Armor / Evasion ChestGo for rare body armor with high life, spell suppression and mana reservation efficiency. Such armor can be crafted with essences quite easily as well.
Gloves
Rare Armor / Evasion GlovesLook for rare gloves with at least 80 life, 400 to accuracy and as much resistance as you can get.
Boots
Rare Armor BootsLook for rare armor-based boots with at least 80 life, 30% increased movement speed, 40+ strength and resistances.
Left Ring
Unset RingLook for unset ring with at least 60 life, 40 intelligence and as much resistance as you can get.
Socket Dread Banner in the ring.
Right Ring
Rare Amethyst RingLook for rare ring with at least 60 life, 40 intelligence, 30+ chaos resistance and any other resistance that you need.
Amulet
Replica Dragonfang's FlightIn the endgame, look for Replica Dragonfang’s Flight version with +3 to Splitting steel gems.
Belt
PerseveranceLook for Perseverance as soon as you can get it – this is an item that synergizes with the build very, very well.
2Hand Weapon
Rare 2-Handed SwordIn the endgame, look for a rare Ezomyte Blade with as much physical DPS as you can find.
Make sure the sword has local critical strike chance and global critical strike multiplier mods, as this is a crit-based build.
Jewel
Jewel SetupBuild uses quite a few jewels.
2 Large Cluster Jewels – look for battle-hardened, force multiplier and master the fundamentals mods on them.
2 Medium Cluster Jewels – look for Repeater and Eye to Eye mods.
Endgame Jewels:
Forbidden Flame and Flesh with Headsman ascendancy.
Watcher’s Eye with impales lasting 2 additional hits.
Impossible escape with Perfect Agony keystone – very endgame option to save a few points, unless you can get it cheaply.
Build also uses regular rare jewels. On those, look for increased max life, global critical strike multiplier and attack speed.
