[3.5] Instant Leech Double Strike Duelist (Champion)

Intro & build description

Double Strike is not the most-often used melee skill, but it sure can be made in an unstoppable machine that obliterates not only maps but bosses as well. This build utilizes Double Strike together with dual wielded Bloodseeker claws for instant leech and lots of damage.

Build Pros

  • Instant leech
  • Very high life pool (8-9k life)
  • Obliterates bosses and can facetank Shaper's beam
  • Very quick movement due to the fact that we can use Whirling Blades

Helmet

Starkonja's Head

Great helm with good balance of damage and defense.

Body Armour

Rare Elder Body Armour

Look for rare Elder body armour with “Attacks have +x% to Critical Strike Chance” and some life on top of that.

Another great alternative would be Belly of The Beast.

Gloves

Haemophilia

Great gloves that boost clear speed of the build. Try to corrupt them for “Attacks have +#% to critical strike chance” because it is global modifier which means it will affect gems in  your chest as well.

Boots

Rare Boots

Look for generic rare boots with increased movement speed, life and resistances.

Left Ring

Steel Ring

On rings look for high life, physical damage to attacks and resistances.

Right Ring

Diamond Ring

Same as previously mentioned ring.

Amulet

Rare Amulet

Look for amulet with life, physical damage to attacks and critical strike multiplier.

If you can afford it, look for shaper or elder amulet with “Gain x% of physical as extra [element] damage” mods.

Belt

Stygian Vise

Look for rare Stygian Vise with high life and resistances.

1Hand Weapon

Bloodseeker

This claw enables instant leech on the build and is a core item. Good idea is to corrupt the claw until you hit power charge on crit corruption. Then you could substitute Assassin’s Mark with Poacher’s Mark and generate frenzy charges.

Offhand

Bloodseeker

We need 2 of these claws.

Jewel

Jewel Setup

On jewels look for:

1.) Increased maximum life
2.) Increased global critical strike multiplier / melee critical strike multiplier
3.) Critical strike chance mods
4.) Attack speed mods
5.) Res or attributes if you are lacking any

Flask

Flask setup

Look for following flasks:

1.) Sin’s Rebirth (If you can afford it)
2.) Diamond Flask with curse removal
3.) Taste of Hate
4.) Atziri’s Promise
5.) Flask of your choice (Quicksilver or other)

  1. How can I get a LVL 21 Vaal Gem in 3.4?

Thought this crafting recipe was Bestiary exclusive.

    • It was possible in Incursion as well, and after Vaal skill rework I’d think they would add some way to get them to 21 in Delve as well.

  2. Is elemental damage on stygian/rings that important? I would think it doesn’t make that much of difference since we are mostly dealing phys dmg, so what are the other sourcers of ele dmg?

    • It’s expensive, but yeah, it is pretty good stat to have. Since we use Shaper’s stat-stick and shaped amulet in endgame, we gain around 70-100% of our physical damage as combined elemental damage, so getting extra dmg on rings and belt could be useful.

  3. how you have fortify?

  4. I dont have enough Int to wear the Bloodseeker claw and Int on the Jewlery is very expensive… how did you make it?

  5. What is the point of the multiple immortal calls?

  6. How am i suppose to use Enfeeble when im using Blood Magic (Removes all mana, Spend life instead of mana for skills) on the skilltree?!?!?!

  7. Great build! Started end-game with it and, after tweaking my playstyle and getting better gear, I can clear most maps without dying!

I have one question. You say the Stygian Vise needs “elemental damage with attacks”, what does it scale with?

Side note: I’m using Daresso’s salute (amulet), which gives a decent DPS boost when full on life and has great fire/cold resist. Seems to have good synergy with the build, try it out!
