[3.24] Hexblast Mines Saboteur (League starter)

Intro & build description

Hexblast miner is an interesting build that scales damage by hexing enemies and “detonating” the hexes. Build uses a few uniques to fully take advantage of this interaction, but it also functions very well in early maps even without them. Since Hexblast uses monster’s lowest elemental resistance, we use Elemental weakness and frostbite to lower them.

Build Pros

  • Like most miners, it has great bossing potential
  • Good AoE and map clear
  • Does well in the first days of the league with limited gear
  • Solid life pool (6000+)

Build Cons

  • Dissolution of the flesh can be difficult to get used to

Rare Shaper Helmet

In the endgame, look for shaper helmet with a minimum of 2 mods:

1) Socketed Gems are Supported by Level x Hypothermia
2) Socketed Spells have +x% to Critical Strike Chance

In addition to these mods, we would ideally want +2 to socketed AoE gems, but that will get expensive.

Until you can get helm like that, use regular rare helmet with high life and resistances and use Hexblast skill setup in a 6-linked body armor.

Body Armour

Kaom's Heart

Endgame version of the build uses Kaom’s Heart, mainly for its high life.

Switching to Kaom’s should happen when you have a recommended endgame shaper helmet.

Before switching, use Tabula Rasa or rare 6-linked body armor with high life and resistances.

Rare Gloves with incursion mod

Look for rare gloves with at least 80 life, high elemental resistances and x% increased Damage with Hits against Chilled Enemies incursion mod.

Until you can afford such gloves, use ones with just high life and resistances.

Rare boots

Look for generic rare boots with 30% increased movement speed, at least 70 life and high resistances.

Left Ring

Rare Ring with Elemental Weakness on Hit

For our left ring, we are looking for a rare ring with the main mod of “Curse Enemies with Elemental Weakness on Hit”.

Cheapest way to get this mod would be through hunter influenced ring, but you can also get it as a synthesis implicit.

In addition to this mod, we would want high life and some resistances / attributes.

Right Ring

Profane Proxy

Profane Proxy gives our skitterbots an ability to consistently apply one of our hexes – Frostbite.

Rare amulet

On our endgame amulet, we would like a combination of 3 mods:

1) Global critical strike multiplier
2) +1 to Level of all Chaos Skill Gems
3) +1 to Level of all Skill Gems

Such amulet will be quite pricy, so at the beginning, just go with the combination of the first 2 mods and some life.

Rare Stygian Vise

Look for generic rare stygian vise with at least 80 life and as much resistances as possible.

Trap and mine throwing speed would be a nice additional mod for an endgame belt.

1Hand Weapon

Rare Wand

On our endgame wand, we would like to have +1 to chaos skill gems, + 1 to all spell skill gems and high critical strike chance for spells.

Until you can wand like that, you can even use Breath of The Council or a rare wand with +1 to chaos skill gems and high spell damage.

Rathpith Globe

An excellent endgame shield that scales with the build perfectly. Start using it when you acquire Dissolution of the Flesh, as it can be used without the life sacrifice downside then.

Before you get Dissolution jewel, use regular rare shield with high life, resistances and some spell damage.

Jewel Setup

One of the main required unique items is Dissolution of the flesh. Use this jewel together with Kaom’s Heart, endgame shaper helmet and Rathpith Globe.

This build also uses Militant Faith (Dominus version) to convert Hex Master keystone to Inner Conviction.

Build also uses regular rare jewels. On them, look for:

1) Increased maximum life
2) Global critical strike multiplire
3) Area damage
4) Resistances / attributes

Build also uses 2 large and 3 medium cluster jewels:

On large clusters look for 2x Wicked Pall + 2x Touch of Cruelty.

On medium clusters look for 2x Surprise Sabotage, 3x Guerilla Tactics and 1x Expert Sabotage.

Flask Setup

Build uses following flasks:

1) Enduring Mana Flask
2) Enduring Mana Flask
3) Bottled Faith (Endgame)
4) Quicksilver Flask
5) Starlight Chalice (Endgame)
